Software Architecture & Systems Design

Architecture is the set of decisions made before a single feature ships: how data flows, where state lives, what's allowed to change independently, and what can't. Twenty years of maintaining what gets built creates a strong bias toward decisions that are still easy to live with in year five, not just week one.

What this includes

  • Architecture for new builds, from a blank page to a documented system design
  • Architecture review of an existing application — what's solid, what's fragile, and what it would take to fix
  • Technology and framework selection matched to the actual problem, not the trend of the month
  • Custom programming tailored to specification, rather than retrofitting a generic template
  • Written documentation of key decisions, so the reasoning doesn't live only in one person's head

This is the foundation every other service on this site builds on. Over 150 web applications and portals built across manufacturing and industrial automation, iGaming and consumer platforms, corporate intranets, retail and ecommerce, and tourism, insurance, automotive and entertainment sectors — each with different scale, compliance, and reliability requirements, and each starting with the same architecture-first discipline before a line of feature code gets written.

In practice that means PHP (Laravel, CodeIgniter), Node.js, and whatever frontend stack actually fits — JavaScript, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS — chosen for the project at hand rather than a single default. The goal is always a system a future developer, very possibly me two years later, can understand, extend, and trust.
